Old Buffer's Day Results
A successful Old Buffers and 13ft Skiff Skipper Swap day was conducted this last Saturday on a sunny afternoon with a strengthening SE’er.
All crews took to the water early for some quick training and whipping into shape before a quick two lap course.
In the 16ft skiffs, first place was taken out by 13ft skiff sailor Tom Potter on VK Thomas, closely followed by Andrew Buckland on Sheads and Andrew Miller with the Lincraft team.
The next skiff in was Club President Phil West on Brandcents, with 13ft skiff skippers Sam Holmes on Oporto and Alex Leslie on Arjax not far behind after learning a lot on the day. Ken Crossman and crew on Kamikaze were having a good race but unfortunately needed to retire after one lap.
In the 13ft skiff race Vice Commodore Alex Deakin on Sheads.com.au knocked three time champion of the 13ft skiff Old Buffers Day Drew Spring (Bob Jane) off the podium this year in a close tussle.
